Does anyone know of a good dog rescue in Georgia?
I have a pitt bull shar-pei mix and he can be the sweetest dog on the face of the planet. He is gentle most of the time except when you get him riled up or another dog comes into your yard… he likes his yard. The reason we can’t keep him here is because we have an old boxer who is the dominant dog in the house hold. She has turned ten and he thought he should have a go at dominance. He failed epically and has become an outcast in his own home. This has spun him into wild depression and he is very determined to make it up to his pack. He now works too hard to protect the house. If another dog is found in our yard, because the stupid neighbors refuse to abide by the leash law… something we’ve never broken but are somehow in trouble for it, he will by any means necessary escape the house to protect his family. This has gotten animal control called on us, remember that the people who called animal control didn’t keep their dog in the house or on a leash in the first place and all those dogs are ill mannered with exception to the pit puppy down the street, and we are worried it may happen again. This dog is seven years old, is neutered, and is up to date on his rabies shots. I’ve emailed everybody but they all say they are that they are either full, won’t take him because of his breed, or they tell me to put him down. Again we wouldn’t be having this big a problem if the neighbors would just play nice. They let their dogs run amok around the whole neighborhood and we’ve had every chance to call animal control on them but we didn’t. Why can’t they give us the same luxury when this was an accident? idk. Hypocrites tick me off. What makes it worse is that every body thinks they already know this dog just by the description “shar-pei” or “pitt bull”. We are looking at this place called Smiling Dog Farms but its all the way in Texas and I would like to visit him. He is house trained and responds to his name Naruto (AWESOME NAME).
