Rocky the Irish Wolfhound Mix from New York State

Hi, my name is Rocky and I'm an Irish Wolfhound mix from Syracuse, NY.  My parents think I might have some Briard in me, too. They found me on the Internet when I was staying at a shelter called Spring Farm Cares in Clinton, NY. The shelter people said that I picked my Mom and Dad out of all the nice people who came to see me. I just had a good feeling about them. You met my brother Checkers last month. He's very annoying, but I guess all little brothers are.

Loki the Jack Russell Mix from North Texas

Hi! My name is Loki and I'm a Jack Russell/corgi mix from the Dallas area. Mommy's friend found me as a stray, and Mommy knew right away that I was meant to be hers. I'm well-behaved and very friendly. I've never met a person I didn't like (some call me the Ferocious North Texas Lick-Hound). My favorite treat is ice cubes. I wait patiently in the kitchen doorway for them, and then I bring them onto the carpet and let them melt there. It's fun.

Milly the Jack Russell Mix from Australia

G'day folks, my name is Milly. I'm a Jack Russell/corgi mix (some say "jorgi") from Adelaide, South Australia. My family adopted me from the Sandy Creek Dog Sanctuary when I was six months old. I've been to my non-furry sister's school many times for Show and Tell and like to wait for her at the gate after school. Before she arrives I usually get lots of pats and chats from the rest of the kids on their way home and sometimes I even get to race them across the school oval. Nobody beats me though - not even other dogs. If I'm not running, I'm normally flopped out on my beanbag under Mum's desk while she makes little tapping noises and slurps coffee at a table that I can't see the top of. Every now and then she stops to rub my tummy and ruffle my ears and tells me that I'm her best friend. When not running or being the world's quietest secretary I love chewing big chunks of wood (Dad reckons I'm a furry mulching machine), delicately nibbling grapes than hang low enough for me to reach and giving our three chickens a good sniff.

Tiger the Terrier Mix from NYC

Hi, my name is Tiger and I'm a terrier mix from New York City. I appear to also have some poodle, chihuahua, and schnauzer in my lineage. Mommy adopted me from the vet's office after someone left me there. I am her first dog! She has taught me so many tricks, including barking the number of fingers she's holding up (there's a trick to it, but it's our secret). In return for making me look smart, I look out for her. She always forgets her hat when we go out, and we have to turn around and go back for it. So now I refuse to leave the apartment if she doesn't have her hat.

Barnabus the Terrier Mix from New Jersey

My name is Barnabus, but my friends call me Bubba. I'm a terrier mix from Dunellen, NJ. My mom and dad looked all over the internet for a dog, but they couldn't find one they were really drawn to. So they took a drive to the Popcorn Park Zoo Humane Society (same place luvmutt Sadie came from), and I was the only one in the kennel who wasn't barking! When they brought me out, I immediately rolled over and asked for a belly rub. It was love at first pet! They named me after the cult-classic soap star of Dark Shadows, Barnabus Collins, because we both have dark hair and fangs.

Bowie the Terrier Mix from New Mexico

Hi, my name is Bowie and I'm a terrier/dachshund mix from Albuquerque. Mommy and Daddy already had 3 other dogs when I came along. They went to PetSmart to buy one of the other dogs a birthday present, and there I was, up for adoption. Mommy fell in love with me right away because of my wiry hair and my one blue eye. They call me their "patchwork dog" because I'm so unique-looking. My fur is very adaptable, and Daddy likes to give me makeovers. I'm pretty patient with him, but I'd rather play with my toys.

Hi, my name is Annie and I'm a Jack Russell mix from PA. I also have some boxer in me, too. Daddy adopted me from a shelter with the money he got for his 12th birthday. I'm a little shy at first, but once I warm up to people I'm a social butterfly. I love to run around the yard and play tug. I'm so happy my Daddy adopted me!

Harold the Poodle Mix from Washington, D.C.

My name is Harold and I'm a poodle/terrier mix from our nation's capital. My parents adopted me from the shelter, and they actually thought I was a black poodle until they brought me home and gave me a bath. That's when they discovered I am actually grey and not a full poodle. Like all city dogs, I love chasing pigeons and squirrels. I'm also quite a jumper. My parents used to keep me gated in the kitchen when they went to work, but when they came home, I'd be on the couch. It was a gate intended for labs...I'm only 16 pounds. I can also jump high enough to reach the kitchen counter and steal loaves of bread. Just a hobby, really.

Oh hey! Didn't expect you home so soon.

Where are you taking me? You can't contain me!

Okay, not funny.

A pumpkin suit?! Even less funny. I promise I won't go on the couch again!

Bella the Terrier Mix from Louisiana

Hi, my name is Bella and I'm a terrier/hound mix from Baton Rouge. Animal Control found me and my litter mates on the side of the road in a tiny crate. I was brought to a shelter, where my Mommy and Daddy adopted me just 5 days before Hurricane Katrina. Boy, was I lucky! I love to play and go to the dog park with my friends. I'm also a huge LSU Tigers fan!

I think my Mom and Dad think I'm a human kid.

I get to do whatever I want around here.

They even let me go in the pool!

They also got me this awesome LSU jersey.
