Shelby Mae the Spaniel Mix from Virginia

My name is Shelby Mae, and the peeps at the dog park tell my mom I'm a papillion/spaniel mix. I live in Arlington, Virgina now, but I was born in Tennessee. Things didn't start out too well for me, but I'm so happy now. When I was about eight months old a group of construction workers found me and took me to the home of a wonderful couple in the town who bred hunting dogs. They put "lost dog" signs all over the small town, but no one claimed me. The couple gave me a home until they could find me a permanent home. Lucky pictures of me circulated, and my mom instantly fell in love with me, and I soon became a spoiled diva dog. Because I had difficulty trusting new people, I ran from my mom the first time we met. I quickly learned that she wasn't going to hurt me, and I love my new life of luxury. I am part of a wonderful family now, and will never have to spend another night alone in the woods. I love attention and demand it 24/7. My favorite place is on someone's lap, and if you aren't petting me, I'll make you by pulling your hand toward me with my paw. I also love to chase squirrels, but I don't care about catching them -- I just want them to run up trees. I love toys, especially toys with squeakers. They are the best to tear up into shreds. Mom doesn't love it, but I just give her "the eyes" and all is well.

Max the Lab Mix from Toronto

Hi, my name is Max and I'm a Chocolate Lab/Springer Spaniel mix from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. My brother and I used to live in Savannah, Georgia, until our owner became terminally ill. We were given to a relative, but then sent to the pound. We were then taken in by a rescue organization and bounced around to different foster homes before our new mommy adopted us and brought us to Canada, where we joined 3 more brothers to make a pack of 5. I'm an easygoing, adaptable guy. I love car rides, playing fetch, and lying down in any pool of water I can find. Whenever I wake up from a nap, or when someone comes home, I grab whatever I can and put it in my mouth, whether it's a shoe, the mail, or a grocery bag. I can't help it, I get excited.

Harley the Spaniel Mix from Georgia

My name is Harley and I'm a cocker spaniel/golden retriever mix from Atlanta. I was adopted from Atlanta Pet Rescue by my mommy. I love squeaky toys, but I squeak them with my nose instead of biting them like other dogs. Mommy plays softball and kickball, and I am her teams' mascot. I sit quietly by the field with my paws crossed. Everyone thinks that if I could speak, it would be in a British accent, wearing a monocle, and drinking brandy out of a sifter, because I'm so refined. Despite that fact, in the summer, Mommy always shaves my hair into a mohawk.

Cooper the Spaniel Mix from New York State

Hi, my name is Cooper and this is my brother, Floyd. I'm a cocker spaniel/basset hound mix and he's a beagle mix. Our parents adopted him first, when he was just a skinny puppy at the SPCA. Now he's almost two years old. Mom and Dad were going to wait to adopt another dog, but then I popped up behind the desk at the vet's office. The doctor was fostering me because I was born without all the bones in my legs (I'm doing great now). So me and Floyd are best buddies, but we're very different. He's very high energy and always on alert. I'm more mellow, I just like to chew bones and observe. But I'm lucky I have such a nice big brother!

Gracie the Spaniel Mix from Texas

Hi, my name is Gracie and I'm a cocker spaniel mix from Texas. Me and my brother George were found in someone's backyard. We were infected with heartworm and very, very dirty. But our new parents got us all cleaned up and now we're doing great. I'm a real diva. I hate to go outside and get my paws dirty. I know I'm gorgeous. I even won "Most Beautiful" at a local pet contest!

I was very excited to enter the beauty contest!

I got all prettied up with red bows on my ears.

Those other dogs didn't stand a chance!
