Bootsy the Spaniel Puppy from Illinois

Hi, my name is Bootsy. I'm a spaniel mix puppy from Pekin, IL. As you can see, I'm extremely cute, and my family loves me very much. I love chewing bones and going for walks in the park. My daddy does a lot of work for local animal rescues. Not only did he save me from the pound, but he's helping lots of other dogs get rescued, too! I think he's the best dad ever.

I know I'm cute, but I'm also quite versatile.

I blend in nicely with the hardwoods.

I make a pretty cute cowgirl, too!

I'm the poster child for why you should visit the pound more often.

Ares the Shepherd Mix from Texas

Hi, my name is Ares and I am a beautiful golden-colored shepherd mix from a small town in Texas. My family scoured the AKC for a breed with "the perfect temperament" (whatever that is), but then they just went to the shelter and adopted little old me. I'm a very active girl. I love to do agility, play fetch, and run alongside my family on their bikes. I also like to play hide-and-seek with the kids in my family. We have 10 acres of woods, and the kids go hide while I hang back. When I get the signal, I can always find them!

I'm lucky I got adopted by an active family with a lot of land.

I can play all day and tire myself out.

Hide-and-seek is the best game because I'm a good seeker.

But agility is my favorite because it's so much fun!

Hazel the Lab Mix from New York

Hi. My name is Hazel Nut and I’m a Chesapeake Bay retriever/chocolate lab mix. I’m a great puppy and an excellent listener. This year I had a lot of “firsts” – Puppy’s First Christmas, Puppy’s First Easter, etc. I love holidays because I get tons of new toys! My favorite toys are my gingerbread man from Grandma and my Easter chicken. I also just got a new little brother. He better not mess with my presents!

I love Christmas! Where my presents?

Buddy the Cocker Spaniel Mix from Ohio

My name is Buddy the Wonder Dog. I'm a cocker spaniel/golden retriever/beagle mix from Hamilton, OH Mommy says I have "healing powers" that help people feel better when they're sick. She's a great mom. Actually, I used to belong to our neighbors. Mommy would come and walk me every day, and after awhile they said, "Would you like to keep him?" I'm so glad she said yes!

I am so happy Mommy took me from the neighbors.

She takes me to Ohio State games.

She walks me around the neighborhood in my wagon.

And she even got me a friend that looks like me!

Dudley the Shepherd Mix from Maine

My name is Dudley and I'm a shepherd/collie/golden retriever mix from Maine. I live on a lake, which is so much fun! I like to swim and go boating a lot. My family says I'm spoiled rotten, which is so not true. If they really loved me they'd get rid of the cats.

I've got my hat and sunglasses, can we go on the boat now?

Mmmm...don't forget to put some of my bones in the cooler!

Ah, this is the life.

Luca

Luca is a bernese mountain dog/retriever mix from New Jersey, big brother to the loveable Molly Mack, luvmutt from 3/5/07. He excels at obedience and loves rally (which is an obedience competition) and freestyle (which is a choreographed performance to music). Luca is an active guy, but he still finds time to relax.

It's true, I'm an accomplished dancer.

You may recognize me from Dancing with the Doggie Stars.

I like to crituque my past performances on film. It's a humbling process.

But even as a puppy, I knew I would be the next Fred Astaire.

Lady

Lady is a poodle/retriever mix from Bergen County, New Jersey. She was abandoned by her owners when they moved out of the country. She is very sweet and loves to play. Mom says, “All she wants is food and love. But mainly food.”

I may look more like a poodle, but see, I'm retrieving.

Sometimes I do my hair like a poodle, though.

Either way, my life is exhausting.

Becks

Becks is a retriever/dachsund mix from Atlanta, Georgia. He was adopted from Atlanta Pet Rescue. He is very clumsy and frequently falls off the couch while rolling over for a tummy rub. Becks loves to play fetch but gets so excited to play with whatever toy he's fetching that he ends up smacking himself in the mouth with his paws.

Roxie

Roxie is a shepherd/retriever mix from McLean, Virginia. She was dropped off at the Humane Society of Concord, North Carolina with her sister when they were a year old. Her sister got adopted right away, but Roxie had to wait around for several months. Her adoptive Mommy, who was a volunteer at the shelter, thought she was "such a cool dog" and took her home. Roxie moved from North Carolina three months ago, which was very exciting because she got to sit in the front seat of the car. She lives with three cats and likes to eat their food when no one is looking. When Roxie plays with other dogs, no matter how small they are, she always tries to get them to chase her. And when she goes for walks, little kids always ask if she's a fox, hence the nickname "Foxy Roxie."

Sometimes even I think I look like a fox.

This is me standing guard at my house. A very important job.

Don't you just want to hug me? Yeah. I knew it.

I love to sleep in this chair even though some people say I'm too big for it. I don't know what they're talking about.
