Hi, my name is Lucy and I'm from Carrboro, NC. If you live there, you've probably met me. And I've probably asked you for a belly rub (I ask everyone). Mommy thinks I am black lab mixed with something smaller, maybe a Boston Terrier. Some people say I look like a pit bull, so Mommy tells them I'm a "labradorabull." Either way, I'm very cute.

Hi! My name is Trixie True and I'm a 16-week-old hound mix puppy (beagle, perhaps?) from upstate NY. My mommies adopted me on Christmas Eve from the North Shore Animal League. At first, they named me Gypsy, but then they realized I'm much more of a Trixie. I'm a happy-go-lucky little girl. I love to cuddle, play with my big brother, and of course eat, eat, eat! Unfortunately, my mommies just found out that I am going blind from something called PRA, so they are training me to be an extra good listener. It won't be hard, though, because I'm really smart. I'm still looking forward to doing all the things that sighted dogs do, like hiking and swimming! I have a very supportive family and everyone loves me so much...I can do anything!

Hello! My name is Persephone and I'm a rat terrier mix from Austin, TX. My family adopted me from a rescue group to be a companion for my brother Loki. We look like real siblings, too! I am gregarious and outgoing around new people, but I'm scared of other dogs. I can run like the wind, and I really hope to someday catch a deer, although I'm not sure what I'll do with it after that. I love any kind of toy that can be stuffed with treats. Me and Loki like to sleep curled up together in the same crate, even though our parents leave two crates open for us. We prefer to stuff ourselves into one.

My name is Zen and I am a beagle mix puppy from Greenbrier, TN. I was 8 weeks old when these photos were taken (I'm about 4 months old now, but I'm still just as cute.) I love to bark and play, and I get along great with rambunctious kids. Daddy calls me a little piggy when feeding time rolls around. I step in my food bowl, and once I even climbed into a bag of food to take a nap. I just can't help myself!

My name is Shelby Mae, and the peeps at the dog park tell my mom I'm a papillion/spaniel mix. I live in Arlington, Virgina now, but I was born in Tennessee. Things didn't start out too well for me, but I'm so happy now. When I was about eight months old a group of construction workers found me and took me to the home of a wonderful couple in the town who bred hunting dogs. They put "lost dog" signs all over the small town, but no one claimed me. The couple gave me a home until they could find me a permanent home. Lucky pictures of me circulated, and my mom instantly fell in love with me, and I soon became a spoiled diva dog. Because I had difficulty trusting new people, I ran from my mom the first time we met. I quickly learned that she wasn't going to hurt me, and I love my new life of luxury. I am part of a wonderful family now, and will never have to spend another night alone in the woods. I love attention and demand it 24/7. My favorite place is on someone's lap, and if you aren't petting me, I'll make you by pulling your hand toward me with my paw. I also love to chase squirrels, but I don't care about catching them -- I just want them to run up trees. I love toys, especially toys with squeakers. They are the best to tear up into shreds. Mom doesn't love it, but I just give her "the eyes" and all is well.
